Patapsco State Park (Avalon) Information
Location: Elkridge, MD
Description: Due to its geographical location, Patapsco State Park is one of Maryland's most visited parks. Located in the southern suburbs of Baltimore, it is easily accessible to much of eastern Maryland. The park offers several group picnic shelters, a campground, playground areas, fishing, and kayaking.

MORE, the local mountain bike club, has does a great job of maintaining the singletrack trails here. The large network of trails has everything from rocky steep ascents, courderoy roads, and log jumps for the advanced rider to smooth, wide singetrack for the novice mountain biker. In addition, paved and gravel paths along the river can be enjoyed by the more casual rider.

** Note that this map is incomplete. The hiking-only trails and the Hilton area trails are not displayed yet. Plans are to have the park completely mapped by autumn 2008.
