Pocahontas State Park Description
Located on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia, Pocahontas State Park is one of the most popular state parks in the Virginia Park System.
It is easy to see why. There is such a huge variety of activities that attracts visitors here throughout the year.
The pool area is a huge draw during the summer months. Canoes and paddleboats can be rented for use on Swift Creek Lake.
There are several large picnic areas, a playground area for the little ones, and an ampitheater which hosts performances throughout the year.
Pocahontas is the largest of Virginia's State Parks, with over 7600 acres of land.
The well maintained 45 mile network of forest roads can be explored by bike, hiking or on horseback.
There are also about 20 miles of fantastic singletrack trails at various levels of difficulty.
